MediaCentral Publisher's Description

The premier media center solution for your Mac, MediaCentral, and The Tube are growing together. MediaCentral 2.8 includes a completely overhauled TV engine that offers noticeably better picture quality, faster channel switching and direct access to recordings made with The Tube.

MediaCentral now supports the TubeStick hybrid - this means that US users can now incorporate Live TV into their media center Macs. Moreover, the engine that was integrated into the MediaCentral is the same TV engine that we use in The Tube. Learn more about TubeStick hybrid.

MediaCentral lets users watch live digital TV received over-the-air (DVB-T) and utilizes the same TV engine that powers The Tube, the innovative TV software from equinux. Thanks to the new TV engine, MediaCentral offers better picture quality, even with poor reception, faster channel switching and direct playback of recordings stored in The Tube's library. MediaCentral is also more responsive, has updated online content and improves access to iPhoto.

Finally, MediaCentral replaces your TV set: MediaCentral now integrates equinux' recently announced TV receiver TubeStick hybrid. To keep things simple, you just have to choose one of the locations you already scanned with The Tube. With MediaCentral 2.8, good things grow together.

By choosing a progam MediaCentral shows information about the current and upcoming program as well as the signal strength. Additional information of the running program displays MediaCentral by pressing the i-key. Who would need a TV-guide?
MediaCentral integrates The Tube channel lists

Two applications, one channel list - this is how the organization of your TV channels can be described. Everybody who has already created a channel list within The Tube is now able to use the same list in MediaCentral and customize it.

In order to stop the current program within MediaCentral, just hit either the spacebar or the play/pause-button on the Apple Remote. To continue watching, hit the same button again (Timeshift). Plus, you can rewind within the Timeshift-buffer to take a closer look at interesting scenes.

Everybody who transforms his Mac into a media center with MediaCentral can abandon the keyboard. Even DVDs will be ejected via your Apple Remote for a perfect entertainment experience.
